If they’re smart, they’ll try to be part of the solution. National, state and local unions should have been in the “get rid of bad teachers” game long ago. And how about a plan to get rid of crapola administrators too? I worked in a district that moved a principal to my school after she had been run out of one down the road. Then she moved up to assistant superintendent. A good administrator inspires staff, is engaged with students, sets the school’s vision and works their ass off to implement it. Bad ones do none of that and make even the best teachers’ jobs much, much harder.
