I love/hate the media

Well she certainly got the memo about blaming the media.  Oh, and I love the hyberbole— destroying all that she represents  (a foreign policy chia pet minus the foliage) and threatening our democracy with their damn questions about foreign policy.  Jerksacks.  Would serve them right if she never talked to anyone with a microphone and recording device again.

Is Coleman planning to run out the clock for the next six years?   All this legal dipshittery is exhausting.  I respect a hard fight when the victory is on points.  But come on.  We’re tired and the country’s got shit to do.

I thought elephants were supposed to be smart.  My bad.

Judd Gregg is not the biggest a-hole in Washington–in fact, I think he is a probably an okay guy.  I say this because he was willing to join this administration when many in the GOP are throwing flaming bags of dog poo at it.   But the stimulus bill all of sudden is a deal-breaker when that’s all anyone has talked about for months? Kind of like dating a priest and being mad he won’t leave God to marry you.  Oh, and it turns out Gregg wasn’t that against it anyway.  I suspect that he will come to regret his capitulation to the Rush Limbaugh dipshit crowd passing as the republican party.  They just pushed a voice for republican fiscal policy (with a President willing to listen) into the toilet and gave it a swirly.  I suppose Judd Gregg can expect to be shoved into his locker if he doesn’t fall in line .

PS: No more bitching about not having a say–you apparently don’t want one.

Senate upgrades

The husband thinks, and I agree, that maybe the Senate should get a visit from any middle school AV department to upgrade their microphones. They’re huge and strange and unbecoming a superpower.  Then the elementary school kids can teach the Senators how to use PowerPoint so they can dispense with the ridiculous poster board visual aids of the sort I made in 1986 for a speech about Edgar Allan Poe.

File this under 2012 presidential politics. Four major players, Barbour, Sanford, Jindal and Palin, (all likely contenders for the 2012 GOP nomination) have decided to run against the stimulus bill before it is passed or implemented–before it can declared a success or failure.  Clearly they’re banking on the latter which is lame and sad considering we’ve hit at least a three on the crapquake richter scale with a chance of damaging aftershocks.

Congressional Republican bluster over microscopic amounts of pork relative to the total stimulus package makes me think they, a) don’t really know what’s happening or  B) have no idea how to fix it or C) get their advice from the Joe the Plummer.

PS: I should note that I am not an economist and in fact I barely made it out of pre-calculus in high school and took “math for English majors” in college.
